CESTAT Kolkata Sets Aside Gold Confiscation
The Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) β Kolkata Bench allowed the appeal of Appellant, setting aside the confiscation of gold bars, currency, and a vehicle seized in 2017. The Tribunal held that the Department failed to establish the smuggled nature of the gold and other items under the Customs Act, 1962.
